Westfield “Trenton” (1937)

Classic deco styling with the original matching band!

Westfield was a brand owned by Bulova. While, in subsequent years, Westfield was viewed as a secondary brand, back in the 1930s, they were making some really nice watches. This particular watch dates to 1937 — the height of Westfield’s stylistic finesse.

This model was known as the “Trenton” and, with the 17 jewel movement, was the top of the Westfield line in 1937. The classic Empire era deco styling makes this an iconic watch.

The bezel and back are 10K yellow rolled gold plate. The bezel and back are in Very Good condition with only minor scratching. The dial is in Good condition but with some spotting, particularly around the 7 o’clock marker. The hands are complete and in Very Good condition. The crystal is in Very Good condition and remains usable.

This watch is powered by Bulova’s 17 jewel 10AW movement. The movement is marked Westfield, but it is a Bulova (often the case in Westfield watches). The watch winds, sets and runs just fine, though it has not been serviced by us.

Included with this watch is the original, matching metal band. The band is marked 10K gold. It’s amazing it is still with the watch and in great shape. The band is, however, very short. If you are a woman, it may be usable, but most people will need to replace the band with something more practical. We will also include a new black or brown leather band — your preference.

All-in-all, this is a great, classy vintage watch ready to wear.

Note that this watch has not been serviced while in our possession and we do not know the service history of this piece. While it is running well and keeping good time now we do advise all vintage watch owners to have their watches regularly serviced to assure the longest enjoyment.
