A very nice early 1940s Lord Elgin. The watch features Elgin’s high quality 21 jewel 559 movement housed in a nice, understated tonneau case.
The case for this watch is 14K yellow gold filled bezel and back. The case is signed Elgin, but was manufactured by Wadsworth. The case is in Very Good shape with no brassing or wear through. The dial is in Excellent condition with no spotting. The hands are Very Good. The high domed period crystal is also in Excellent condition, with no deep scratches, chips or cracks. We’ve added a new old stock Speidel lizard band to the watch.
The watch is powered by the 559 movement. This is a very reliable 21 jewel movement. The watch is currently running well and keeping good time. Note that this watch has not been serviced while in our care and we do not know the service history. We always recommend clients get their watches serviced regularly to get the maximum enjoyment from the watch.
