Lord Elgin “Thornton” (Model 4633) (1953)

Classic style with one of Elgin’s best from the 1950s – the Thornton.

The Thornton was one of Elgin’s signature watch designs in the mid-1950s. Today, this is one of the most sought after of the models from the period. In typical Lord Elgin style, the case is 14K gold filled, front and back and the movement is a top of the line 21 jewel movement.

This example is particularly good, with no brassing on the bezel and some minor wear on the case back corners. The dial and hands are in Very Good condition.

The movement is Elgin’s high quality 21 jewel, caliber 670. The watch is running well and keeping good time.

The service history of this watch is unknown and it has not been serviced while in our possession. While the watch is keeping very good time right now, you will probably want to have a jeweler clean, oil, and adjust the watch to get the greatest accuracy and the longest enjoyment from your vintage watch.
