An exceptional example of the Lord Elgin Model 4820. A 14K gold filled case with a high quality 21 jewel calibre 680 movement. This watch is in excellent condition.

The bezel and back are both 14K yellow gold filled and show no evidence of brassing or wear through. The dial is in Excellent condition with a textured surface free from marks. The gold daggar hands and gold applied numbers are without rust. The plastic crystal is a replacement and is unscratched. The watch runs well and keeps good time. There is an inscription on the back: “Richard D. Hammond, 25 Years Loyal Service, Koehler Mfg Co. 1954.”

The band is a new old stock leather strap. This is a medium-sized strap. The watch is ready to wear. Note that this is a small watch by today’s standards and can easily be worn by a man or a woman.

We don’t know the service history of this watch and it has not been serviced while in our possession. While the watch is keeping very good time right now, you will probably want to have a jeweler clean, oil, and adjust the watch to get the greatest accuracy and the longest enjoyment from your vintage watch.
