Lord Elgin Model 4617 (1951)

One of the most popular Lord Elgin models, with a 14K gold filled case, a high quality 21 jewel movement and a new lizard grain band.

This early 1950s Lord Elgin was one of the more popular models. This example is in Excellent condition, with only slight signs of wear. The case is 14K yellow gold filled. As you can see in the photos, there are some minor scratches on the side of the case, but no significant wear. The dial is off white with a very slight patina, and is complimented by applied gold numerals and markers. The hands are in Excellent condition with no signs of rust.

The watch is powered by Elgin’s 21 jewel 670 calibre movement. The 670 was one of Elgin’s best movements and this example is no exception. The watch is keeping good time and has excellent power reserve (40+ hours).

We’ve added a new crystal and a new watch band, but this watch is otherwise all original. The band is a new leather lizard grain band of medium size. The watch is ready to wear.

Note that this watch has not been serviced while in our possession and we do not know the service history of this piece. While it is running well and keeping good time now we do advise all vintage watch owners to have their watches regularly serviced to assure the longest enjoyment.
