This striking early 1950s Lord Elgin features a black dial complemented with black enamel highlighting on the lugs. The Apex case is one of the rarer Elgin signed models. The case is 14K yellow gold filled, bezel and back. This example is in Excellent condition with no signs of brassing or wear through; the only marks to the case are very small and located on the lug near 7 o’clock — they can be seen in the photos. The marks are truly minor and do not detract from the watch’s appearance.

The dial is near flawless, as are the hands. The crystal is without marks or distortion. The watch is powered by Elgin’s reliable 21 jewel 556 calibre movement. This watch has excellent power reserve and is keeping very good time.

We’ve paired this watch with a new Hadley Roma crocodile leather band to create a really great look. The watch is ready to wear. The watch is 24mm wide (not counting the crown) and measures 38mm from lug to lug.

Note that this watch has not been serviced while in our possession and we do not know the service history of this piece. While it is running well and keeping good time now we do advise all vintage watch owners to have their watches regularly serviced to assure the longest enjoyment.
