Early 1940s Elgin with classic style. Recently serviced and ready to wear.
The model 6739 was one of the more distinctive Elgin case designs from the early 1940s. Good examples of this watch are very hard to find as the dramatic stepped bezel tends to wear. This particular watch is in Very Good condition with few signs of wear.
The case is signed Elgin but was manufactured by the Wadsworth. The bezel is gold filled and the back is stainless steel. It is in Very Good condition with no brassing visible without a loup. The case back fits snugly.
The ivory dial is in Excellent condition. The gold applied numerals and stick hour markers are in Excellent condition. The sword hands are in Excellent condition with no oxidation.
The movement for this watch is the 554 caliber movement – a 15 jewel movement. This watch has been serviced and it runs well and keeps good time, with a strong reserve.
We’ve added to this watch a gently used vintage Hadley-Roma expansion band. It is ready to wear.
