Bulova Flip Top Photo Watch (1950)

A beautiful 10K gold filled Flip Top Photo Watch, recently serviced and in Excellent condition. This piece is near perfect and ready to wear. The original 17 jewel movement has been serviced and runs well.

The Flip Top Photo Watch was a design innovation first launched by Bulova in the 1940s. The watch is spring loaded, and when you press a lever, the bezel tilts up to reveal a space suitable for placing a photo. This example is recently renovated, serviced, and in Excellent condition.

This example of the Flip Top Photo Watch dates to 1950. It’s clean bezel complements the white butler finish dial with gold markers. This dial has been refurbished based on the original dial diagrams by International Dial Company. The case is 10K yellow gold filled and is in Excellent condition. There is no brassing nor signs of wear through on the front or back. The spring mechanism for the photo frame works perfectly. The crystal is original and without scratches or chips.

The movement is Bulova’s 17 jewel 8AC movement. It has been cleaned, oiled and adjusted for accuracy. The watch includes a new lizard grain calfskin watch band. The watch is running great and ready to wear. We’ve even included Betty.

The back of the watch is inscribed, “Love Always, Dolly.”
